I look forward to working with you. I am deeply committed to helping you create and achieve the vision you have for your business and the successful, lucrative exit you desire and deserve. Together, we will use the Value Builder System to improve the health, value, and readiness of your business for a regret-free exit - whether that means selling the business or simply elevating your role to Chairman of the Board.
AGREEMENT
This document will serve to confirm you are engaging DTLV Marketing (dba Crossing the Goal Partners) as your Certified Value Builder Advisors.
The foundation of our work together will be supported by The Value Builder System™, a proven methodology for increasing the value of a business.
The Value Builder System™ includes 12 modules, which are completed each year at the pace of one module per month. Each module will include two one-on-one working sessions of one (1) hour each with Mark Mraz, as your personal Certified Value Builder advisor and coach.
You will also be required to consider a number of strategic questions prior to our meetings. From time to time, we may need to call on you, or one of your designates, to access data we need to prepare for our monthly meeting.
Throughout the year, you will have private access to The Value Builder System™ software so you can monitor your progress at any time, along with access to my client portal to access engagement-related documentation and support online communications.
There are three aspects to our coaching - the "360-degree Readiness Lens."
- Your personal readiness to exit,
- The readiness of the business for your exit
- Your financial readiness to exit.
ENGAGEMENT AGREEMENT TERM
The initial engagement term will be from the date of enrollment/purchase (03/23/2026) for a term of 12 months.
Termination: To ensure a professional transition of strategy and value-building initiatives, this agreement may be terminated by either party with 30 days’ written notice. Any prepaid fees for the remaining duration of the engagement beyond the notice period will be refunded on a pro-rata basis.
ASPECTS and EXPECTATIONS OF COACHING
There are two aspects to our coaching. The first includes the strategy and planning; designing your Endgame, identifying and designing the plans you have for yourself and your business once ready to transition from ownership - how you will exit, the role you are willing to play, the terms your willing to accept, and clarifying what your new life looks like post-exit.
The second aspect of our coaching includes execution; the implementation of the strategy and plans we design together. Implementation is a combination of education and action. In each module of the Value Builder System, you'll watch video lessons and practice your learning through online exercises. Your next step is to take action in your business, on what you learn. The application and implementation of the education from each module are what will improve your value builder driver scores and in turn the health, value, and readiness of your business in the eyes of a potential acquirer.
As Your Coach and Advisor You Can Expect Me To:
- Be your collaboration partner on this journey to transform your business into a buyer-ready asset, bringing out the best in you and your business.
- Commit to advising you with integrity and always do the best for your business.
- Introduce you to other trusted professionals to support areas where we identify resource gaps (e.g., transaction attorney, M&A professional/business broker, tax planning professional, accountant/bookkeeper, etc.)
- Support and encourage you while offering an alternate perspective and occasionally challenging you to consider other options; acting as a sounding board during your decision-making processes.
- Respect the confidentiality of this agreement and our work together.
- Be an ongoing resource for you in accomplishing your Endgame successfully.
I Expect You, As My Client To:
- Be honest and respectful of yourself, me, and the team we bring together.
- Attend meetings as scheduled, or provide a minimum of 24 hours notice to reschedule.
- Commit yourself to the long game and transformation of yourself and your business to build a buyer-ready business.
- Actively engage with the content and resources made available to benefit your Endgame exit.
- Take action and implement recommendations as they apply to your business in a timely fashion.
